A few weeks ago my wife and I caught on to Downton Abbey and she can’t seem get enough. I’ve been hearing background on the cast, the fashion, and the time period ad nauseum while my wife imdbs/tumblrs/wikipedias everything about the show. This isn’t a problem of course since I too, LOVE, this show. So yesterday, I drew up 4 Downton themed cards for her as we prep for a Valentine weekend involving another Downton marathon. The other three below the cut!
And if anyone likes these enough to give these to YOUR Downton Abbey obsessed spouse/significant other then feel free to download the free cards…
And if this saved you the trouble of buying your own cards and you feel a desire to help me buy my wife some Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, or perhaps some sort of romance themed ice cream for our marathon, feel free to throw a buck in below if you want. Otherwise, have a very Happy Valentines Day!

bbbbbbBBBBAHAHAHAHAAHAH! These are hilarious.
Holy. Crap. These are so so great. I will for sure donate and. ahem, man a dowager countess one would light the world up….
thanks afton!
I truly tried to come up with a good Violet one but none of them clicked. Perhaps next year!
I too am obssessed with Downton Abbey and these are Fabulous!!
Lady Mary and the dead Turk-OUTSTANDING!
It’s sort of funny how the goofiest romance (Daisy and William) turned into one of the most tragic.
What, no card for Matthew???
What, no card for Matthew??? How about…I feel a tingling for you…but that might not make sense to you until Sunday night (at least if you’re American or didn’t order the dvd).
Amazing!!! Great work!
Wow! I adore these, so I posted them on my Tumblr (with a credit link back here, of course!). I hope the ensuing traffic doesn’t crash your site. Only the Dowager Countess would like that, shunning technology and all.
Fabulous! Sent you a buck. Have a nice V-Day.
Chad – we loved your Valentine’s so much we wrote a little post about them and put it on the Twin Cities Public Television website (the PBS affiliate in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota) – http://www.tpt.org/?a=tptUpdate&id=950
We’re huge Downton fans and these were super creative. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome! I agree with Rachel, one of the chicken lady would be great, though I can’t recall her having a love interest.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Lee – that Matthew card is a CRAZY missed opportunity on my part! Great idea! (fyi Jil and I JUST watched the episode your speaking of since we grabbed the Blu ray on Tuesday so I SHOULD have thought about it)
Karna – thank you so much for the link! I appreciate it!
I LOVE DOWNTON ABBEY! my dad and i watch it all the time. LOL! these valentines are great!!!!!!!
These are fabulous!!
Love these, just donated. What about cards for ladies to give the gents?
Done! Thanks so much
PS – re: Dowager Countess… perhaps something to do with the line “What is a week-end?”
There should be one for Edith and Sir Antony Strallen that says “you drive me crazy!”
Or one for Sybil and Branson that says the same!
Too wonderful. My husband doesn’t really watch DA so I’m still looking for a card (maybe Rifftrax has something), but your metaphorical guitar case deserved a snack. Thanks for sharing!
These are fantastic! Branson and Sybil are my favorite, but I can’t decide which is funnier the Bates/O’Brien or Mary/Kemal.
Great graphics! Ditto the wish for a Matthew Tingling one. The Americans saw that episode last Sunday.
These are brilliant!
Just the Dowager Countess saying indignantly, “BUt I do have a heartT” (but does she have a name, besides “the dowager countess”?
These are PERFECT. Takes me back to grade school and makes me want to start Season 2 immediately!
Nice work! My wife and I just finished Season 1 on Amazon Prime Instant Video. I want to give her one of your cards. My only option is the dead turk, as I “fell for her” long ago, and she is already “mine” and “m’lady”. I’ll print them all for her anyway though so she can see your clever work.
Mother’s Day is the next holiday where a person might like a Downton Abbey card (Not so much St Patrick’s or Easter), but from Season 1 anyway I don’t see the obvious mother-themed options. You’re much more creative them me though.
I sent along $2. I hope you receive enough from all to encourage you to try future downloadables.
I’m now off to check out the rest of your website.
Happy VD.
Poor poor Mr. Pamuk! These are fantastic.
One for Edith: “Be mine. Please. PLEASE!!!”
Bates: “I’m yours forev…hang on, I’ll be right back.”
I would have done a Bates and Anna Card:
Front: “I’ll love you until the end of time.”
Inside: “Provided my ex-wife doesn’t contest it in court.”
These are brilliant! Can’t wait to send these to my Downton Abbey following friends! I would be into sending you a buck or two via mail-do you have a p.o box or something? Thanks a heap!Cheers!
Thanks to Rach from Cornell for turning Gramma Millie onto Valentines. They really get to me.
Clever.
To my Valentine Rach!
Those are incredibly clever! We are obsessed with Downton, too.
Brilliant! Branson and Sybil is my best favourite
absolutely hysterical…..love the show too!
That was nice of Mr. Pamuk to send that message via the Ouiji Board to Lady Mary & Matthew.
Thanks for the laugh!!! You are very clever!
My husband and I have decided that our next cat will be named Mr. Pamook.
Is that a great cat name, or what?
Love the cards!
they’re lovely!!thanks
lovely!!! thanks
Count me as another fan, these are GREAT! Thanks!
GENIUS!!!
Ab fab. Cannot tell you how much fun these are. Love them.
Dear I think your wife is not as obsessed as I am. i have ben watching series 1 and 2 and Xmas special for 10 times by now in the last months. My husband sent me your cards today as I am traveling. Being stuck in Schiphol for a bomb threat I lost my connection with the train to Italy. And guess what I do… watch Downton A. again in the hotel room The more you watch it more inspiration for your cards you will get.
Smiling Milena
And you cards are fabulous. Dying for series 3
I’m in love with these! You need to make more!
I gave “Won’t you be m’lady” to my wife, we’re both big fans of the series. She loved it!
These cards are great, I think this should become a tradition. Can’t wait for next year to see what you come up with
Mrs Bates: I’ll never let you go.
Oooh… creepy.
These are fantastic! You are SO talented, I love O’Brien’s curls, looks just lone her. GREAT!
These are great!! I selected one for my fiance as we love Downton Abbey too! I sent you a little something as a thank you
Excellent work! You’ve captured the essence of Downton so well! How about for Violet: “You’re as brilliant as those garish electrical lights!” or “I’d pick you as my favorite flower (provided you came from my garden.)”
Good luck and keep up the good work! Going to check out the rest of your website!
Ok- one more for Violet..”Being anyone else’s Valentine is so middle-class.”
LOVE IT! My son sent me this for Valentines Day, made my day! I LOVE THIS Masterpiece Theatre Series, I too am totally addicted!
Chad –
Your blog about Downton Abbey is hilarious. I love it. There is a a Facebook group dedicated to the show called “Men Who Masterpiece”
Its an open group. I welcome you to come and join the discussion. Your posts would be a nice addition to the forum.
Good Day, Tom
i’m so happy to stumble across this. i,too, have become a downtown abbey addict, and been longing, for the last 36 hours, for another fix. maybe this will hold me until the next show airs. thanks –

WOW – these are awesome! Thanks!
Thanks everyone for the kind words and excitement over the Valentines! I’m genuinely FLOORED by the response and it’s certainly made my week.
And to those who were wonderfully kind enough to donate I was able to get some reese’s for my wife AND the first season of Downton on blu-ray (we only had the second since we couldn’t wait a whole week and a half for the finale).
THANK YOU!
Thanks for the laughs! Happy V Day!
I just *love* the last one! thanks for sharing these. I put a link from my blog, I just had to share with readers!
Oh, man. I love these so much. Great job! A day late and a dollar short, I’m afraid. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for next year!
(Also – Am I just crude or would it be hilarious to have an Ethel/Major Bryant card with the headline “Let’s Make Babies”??) Ü
So awesome!!!
Thanks!
This is the best-evah Valentine’s for DA fans. I LOVE them. More! More! And, can you do some for True Blood and Mad Men?
What a great idea and talent.
I missed these for my Valentine’s Day series on my blog, but will give you a plug tomorrow on my weekly wrap up tomorrow. Well done,
