Welcome to the website of Chad Thomas!  Chad is a freelance cartoonist working out of the greater Dallas area with his incredible wife, Jil(one L!).  Chad began drawing at the early age of 3 by obsessively watching old Disney cartoons.  Everything changed when the world of comics was opened to him by his friend Kyle, The Ninja Turtles, and a comic where Wolverine fought Nazis.  It.  Was.  Awesome.

He attended the Savannah College of Art and Design from 1999-2003, earning his degree in Sequential Art and began his career shortly after.  Over the past few years Chad has worked with a number of comics publishers and many other clients in the realm of both cartooning and design.  He has been a bagel sandwich professional, an ice cream server, a comic shop employee, a smoothie maker, a knife salesman, pool painter, caterer, restaurant floor manager, substitute teacher, and book seller among other various odd jobs.

None of these have ever been as cool as drawing cartoons and comics for a living.

    Hi Chad,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I colored your art for the Tricky Monkey Tales book. I thought your illustrations were great. If you have any future need for a colorist, please keep me in mind.

Also, a graphic novel I colored is coming out April 2012. You can see samples and other art on my website.

Please don’t feel pressured to respond.

    Take care,

    Hello Chad,
My son Gabriel and I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Dallas Comic Con the weekend of May 16th and 17th. I wanted to thank you. His meeting you, getting a signed drawing and comic books, meant the world to him. The most amazing thing for us was when you looked and said “Hey Gabriel”. I don’t know if you noticed the shock and surprise on his face. For you to remember him with everyone you meet was awesome. Gabriel loves to draw as well and started at a young age. He has even won some local art competitions. Reading your bio and seeing where you are now inspires him. Thank you very much.
